The wider edit, and the one to browse if you are buying for yourself rather than for a wedding day. Solid recycled gold hoops and fine chains. Lab grown diamond and sapphire tennis necklaces and bracelets. Freshwater and keishi pearl huggies and studs. Goddess and mythology pendants in sterling, vermeil and solid gold, each figure chosen for the story she carries. Signed vintage from the 1980s and 1990s with real history in it, and hand soldered pieces from small California studios. Jewelry that happens to look right at a wedding rather than jewelry made only for one.
Nearly all of it is ready to ship from Los Angeles. If you are shopping for the day itself, bridal jewelry is the narrower view, filtered to what sits well with a gown. Otherwise come and see it at the Santa Monica showroom, or over a live virtual session.
Jewelry at Mae Bridal, answered
How is this different from the bridal jewelry page?
This page is everything. The bridal jewelry page is the part of it chosen to work with a gown, which leans pearl and crystal. What sits here and not there is the fine jewelry and the everyday pieces: lab grown stone lines, plain gold hoops and chains, pearl huggies, mythology pendants. Start here if there is no wedding involved.
Is lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Chemically and optically it is the same material as a mined diamond, grown in a reactor rather than in the ground, and graded the same way. The difference is the price per carat and the provenance. That is what puts a tennis necklace within reach at all, and it is why our fine jewelry designer works in it.
What is the difference between solid gold, gold vermeil and gold filled?
Solid gold is gold all the way through and will outlast you. Gold vermeil is a thick layer of gold over sterling silver, which wears well and is the usual middle ground. Gold filled bonds a gold layer to a base metal and sits below vermeil. All three are here, and each piece says which, which matters if you react to base metals.
Can I return jewelry?
Check the piece before you buy, because the answer is not uniform. A large share of our jewelry is final sale: many pieces come from the designers' own stock, and earrings in particular are not resold once they have been worn. Made-to-order pieces cannot be returned at all. Read our full return policy.
Can I see jewelry in Los Angeles?
Part of it. The fine jewelry in particular tends to come from the designers' own studios rather than sitting in Santa Monica, so ask before you travel and we will tell you what is at 145 Bay St and what would have to be brought in to be seen. Book a private fitting, or read our piece on AUrate New York.
