What is a second look wedding dress?
A second look is the outfit you change into after the ceremony, usually for the reception or after-party. It is lighter and easier to move in than a ceremony gown, most often a bridal mini dress, a slip dress or a two-piece set.
What styles work best as a second look?
Short and easy to move in is the most popular route: a lace mini, a corset or bustier mini, or a little white dress. A silk slip or bias cut maxi suits a beach or garden reception, and bridal separates like a mini skirt and top let you mix pieces you can wear again.
When do brides change into their second look?
Most of our brides change after dinner, right before the dancing starts, or between the reception and the after-party. Plan for five to ten minutes and choose something you can get into without help.
How far ahead should I order a second look?
Ready to wear pieces, like For Love & Lemons, dispatch within 5 to 7 business days. Made to order pieces from designers like Théoro take 3 to 6 months, so start those at least six months before your wedding.
Can I try on second look dresses in Los Angeles?
