Powered by People is a sourcing platform rather than a single studio. It launched in 2021, founded by Ella Peinovich, Hedvig Alexander and Alison Phillips to connect independent makers directly with the stores that sell their work. The network now reaches more than three thousand maker partners in over a hundred countries, with a team working across North and South America, Africa, Europe and South Asia. The name on the label is the promise behind it.
The goods are handmade by small independent producers in their own countries, and the platform checks how each one is made through its own verification standard before it reaches a retailer. Mae Bridal carries the artisan made accessories and homeware side of it, pieces for a bride, for the people standing beside her and for a first home together. Runs are small and worked by hand, so no two pieces come out quite identical.
