Take Shape Studio is the jewelry label of Sophie Silverstein, who works out of a studio in Oakland, California. She took her first metalwork class in San Francisco in 2014, then stayed on at that studio to rent bench space and teach. The line runs to rings, earrings, ear cuffs, necklaces and bracelets, modern lines with a hand worked surface, drawn from shapes, symbols and things noticed in nature.
Everything is made at the bench, beaded, fabricated, cast and finished by hand, with computer modeling and 3D printing used as tools rather than as shortcuts. The metals are recycled sterling silver, bronze and fourteen karat gold, and the stones are ethically sourced or antique. The result is jewelry with a little weight and a little irregularity to it, the sort a bride can wear on the day and then keep wearing.
