• Steam English net on low or hang it in a steamy bathroom to release fold creases, and keep a hot iron off the net.
• Store the scarf loosely rolled or hanging rather than folded, so creases do not set.
• Spot clean only, blotting with a clean damp cloth rather than rubbing.
• The longer lengths trail on the floor, so gather the ends in your hand when you move.

Tailored Tulle was founded in 2020 by Katie Valleau, its owner and designer, who began making veils while planning her own wedding and could not find the one she had in mind.

Drawing on a background in sewing and design, she built a small label in Portland, Oregon, where a team of women design and hand sew every piece to order, one at a time. Her signature is the finish: fine hand worked edges on light tulle, so every veil falls softly and every scarf drapes with ease. The range runs from veils in a spread of lengths to bridal scarves, capes, sleeves, hair combs and pins.

You are choosing the total length of the scarf and the color, and because the scarf wraps around the neck the length is doubled, so these numbers run longer than a veil of the same name.

• Fingertip, 72 inches, the ends fall around the fingertips with arms down.
• Waltz, 100 inches, the ends fall between the knee and the ankle.
• Ballet, 116 inches, the ends fall between the knee and the ankle, a little longer than waltz.
• Chapel, 156 inches, the ends pool slightly on the floor behind.
• Cathedral, 198 inches, the ends extend well past the train.
• Every length is approximately 20 to 30 inches wide.
