Pins, comb or hair vine: which should I choose?
Decide after your hair trial rather than before, because the hairstyle chooses for you. Pins are the most flexible and can be scattered through loose waves or clustered to one side. A comb needs something to anchor into, so it suits an updo, a chignon or a half-up style. A hair vine follows a braid or a low bun and gives a longer line of detail.
Can I wear a hair accessory with a veil?
Yes, and it is one of the loveliest ways to use both. Set the comb or the pins where the veil attaches so the detail reads at the back of the head in photographs, or place pins on the opposite side from the veil comb. Let one material run through the whole look, pearl beside pearl or crystal beside crystal, rather than mixing the two.
Do you carry tiaras, crowns or headbands?
Not at the moment. What we have chosen is combs, pins and a hair vine, which sit in the hair and let it still look like your hair. If a tiara or a headband is the thing you have always pictured, tell us and we will say honestly whether one of our designers can make it rather than sell you something close.
How many pins do I need?
More than one, usually. Scattered detail reads far better in photographs than a single pin on one side, and several of our styles come in sets or in a choice of sizes. Three to five small pins through loose hair is a safe place to start. Show your stylist the photograph at your trial and she will tell you what the style wants.
Can I see bridal hair accessories in Los Angeles?
Yes, at 145 Bay St in Santa Monica, by appointment. These are small enough that a photograph flatters them, so seeing a comb at actual size next to your veil is really the point of coming in.
