A drop waist wedding dress has its waist seam below your natural waistline, in a pointed or curved shape rather than a straight line. A fitted corset bodice does the shaping above it, and the skirt opens below the drop, which elongates the torso and makes the skirt read fuller.
What is the difference between a drop waist and a basque waist?
Very little in practice. A basque waist usually means the pointed V version of the seam, while drop waist covers both the V and the softer U. Designers and search engines use the two terms almost interchangeably.
Who does a drop waist wedding dress flatter?
