• Steam on low, or hang the veil in a steamy bathroom, to release fold creases. Never rest a hot iron directly on English net.
• Hang the veil at full length to store it, or roll it loosely, since folding a long length sets creases that are slow to drop.
• Spot clean only, and let the net dry flat before it is hung again.
• The longer lengths sweep the floor and pick up dust, so carry the end when moving between rooms.

Tailored Tulle was founded in 2020 by Katie Valleau, its owner and designer, who began making veils while planning her own wedding and could not find the one she had in mind.

Drawing on a background in sewing and design, she built a small label in Portland, Oregon, where a team of women design and hand sew every piece to order, one at a time. Her signature is the finish: fine hand worked edges on light tulle, so every veil falls softly and every scarf drapes with ease. The range runs from veils in a spread of lengths to bridal scarves, capes, sleeves, hair combs and pins.

You are choosing the length and the color. English net hangs close to the body, so the length reads as where the veil ends on you rather than how much volume it adds.

• Elbow, 30 inches, falls at the elbow.
• Fingertip, 38 inches, falls at the fingertips with arms down.
• Waltz, 58 inches, falls between the knee and the ankle.
• Chapel, 90 inches, pools slightly on the floor behind you.
• Cathedral, 110 inches, extends well past the train.
• Cathedral wide, 110 inches long and 100 inches wide, extends well past the train and spreads across the width of it.
• Most bridal gowns are ivory or light ivory. Silk white reads brighter, light ivory reads warmer.
