• Steam the tulle on low or hang the veil in a steamy bathroom, and keep a hot iron away from both the tulle and the lace.
• Have the Chantilly lace professionally cleaned rather than washing it at home.
• Store the veil hanging or loosely rolled so the lace edge does not crease.
• Spot clean the tulle only, blotting rather than rubbing along the lace.

Tailored Tulle was founded in 2020 by Katie Valleau, its owner and designer, who began making veils while planning her own wedding and could not find the one she had in mind.

Drawing on a background in sewing and design, she built a small label in Portland, Oregon, where a team of women design and hand sew every piece to order, one at a time. Her signature is the finish: fine hand worked edges on light tulle, so every veil falls softly and every scarf drapes with ease. The range runs from veils in a spread of lengths to bridal scarves, capes, sleeves, hair combs and pins.

You are choosing the length of the back of the veil, measured from the comb down, plus the color and the lace pattern.

• The blusher is 30 inches, which falls at about the elbow, and can be worn over the face or behind the head.
• Fingertip, 38 inches, falls at the fingertips with arms down.
• Waltz, 58 inches, falls between the knee and the ankle.
• Chapel, 90 inches, pools slightly on the floor behind.
• Cathedral, 110 inches, extends well past the train.
