• Chantilly lace is fine and open. Have it professionally cleaned rather than washed at home if it needs more than a spot clean.
• Steam on low from a distance to relax fold creases, and keep a hot iron off the lace entirely.
• Store hanging, or loosely rolled in tissue, rather than folded, so the eyelash trim along the border is not crushed.
• Keep the eyelash edge clear of rings, zippers and clasps, which catch and pull the fine threads.

Tailored Tulle was founded in 2020 by Katie Valleau, its owner and designer, who began making veils while planning her own wedding and could not find the one she had in mind.

Drawing on a background in sewing and design, she built a small label in Portland, Oregon, where a team of women design and hand sew every piece to order, one at a time. Her signature is the finish: fine hand worked edges on light tulle, so every veil falls softly and every scarf drapes with ease. The range runs from veils in a spread of lengths to bridal scarves, capes, sleeves, hair combs and pins.

You are choosing the length and the comb finish. The lace is approximately 58 to 62 inches wide at every length, so the longer lengths trail as a more oval shaped train.

• Fingertip, 38 inches, falls at the fingertips with arms down.
• Waltz, 58 inches, falls between the knee and the ankle.
• Chapel, 90 inches, pools slightly on the floor behind you.
• Cathedral, 110 inches, extends well past the train.
