• Steam each layer on low or hang the veil in a steamy bathroom to release fold creases, and never press a hot iron onto tulle.
• Hang the veil out well ahead of the day and shake the layers loose, as four layers hold a fold longer than one.
• Store hanging or loosely rolled rather than folded, so creases do not set.
• Spot clean only, blotting with a clean damp cloth.

Tailored Tulle was founded in 2020 by Katie Valleau, its owner and designer, who began making veils while planning her own wedding and could not find the one she had in mind.

Drawing on a background in sewing and design, she built a small label in Portland, Oregon, where a team of women design and hand sew every piece to order, one at a time. Her signature is the finish: fine hand worked edges on light tulle, so every veil falls softly and every scarf drapes with ease. The range runs from veils in a spread of lengths to bridal scarves, capes, sleeves, hair combs and pins.

This veil is offered in one set of layers, so the choice here is color, and the measurements below tell you where each layer lands from the comb down.

• Shortest layer, 22 inches, sits just above the shoulder.
• Longest layer, 46 inches, falls below the fingertips and above the knee.
• The four layers sit between those two measurements, which is what builds the volume through the middle of the veil.
• The top layer can be worn over the face as a blusher or set behind the head.
