• Steam the tulle on low or hang the veil in a steamy bathroom to release fold creases, and never set a hot iron on tulle.
• Keep perfume and hairspray away from the pearls and dew drops, and get ready before you place the veil.
• Store the veil hanging or loosely rolled so the embellished top is not crushed.
• Spot clean the tulle only, working around the pearls and dew drops.

Tailored Tulle was founded in 2020 by Katie Valleau, its owner and designer, who began making veils while planning her own wedding and could not find the one she had in mind.

Drawing on a background in sewing and design, she built a small label in Portland, Oregon, where a team of women design and hand sew every piece to order, one at a time. Her signature is the finish: fine hand worked edges on light tulle, so every veil falls softly and every scarf drapes with ease. The range runs from veils in a spread of lengths to bridal scarves, capes, sleeves, hair combs and pins.

You are choosing the length of the veil, measured from the comb down, and whether the dew drops and pearls fade out near fingertip length or cascade all the way to the bottom.

• Elbow, 30 inches, falls at the elbow.
• Fingertip, 38 inches, falls at the fingertips with arms down.
• Waltz, 58 inches, falls between the knee and the ankle.
• Chapel, 90 inches, pools slightly on the floor behind.
• Cathedral, 110 inches, extends well past the train.
