• Soft bridal illusion tulle, made on Tailored Tulle's light ivory
• Angel cut, which adds a cascading effect down the sides and movement through the veil

• Embellishment fades out around fingertip length, leaving the rest of the veil plain
• Transparent single layer, so the gown reads through it

• Steam on low, or hang the veil in a steamy bathroom, to release fold creases. Never set a hot iron directly on bridal tulle.
• Keep perfume and hairspray away from the pearls and the flowers, and let both dry fully before the veil goes on.
• Store hanging, or loosely rolled, rather than folded, so creases do not set into the tulle.
• Spot clean only, dabbing around the embellished top rather than rubbing across the pearls.

Tailored Tulle was founded in 2020 by Katie Valleau, its owner and designer, who began making veils while planning her own wedding and could not find the one she had in mind.

Drawing on a background in sewing and design, she built a small label in Portland, Oregon, where a team of women design and hand sew every piece to order, one at a time. Her signature is the finish: fine hand worked edges on light tulle, so every veil falls softly and every scarf drapes with ease. The range runs from veils in a spread of lengths to bridal scarves, capes, sleeves, hair combs and pins.

You are choosing the length. The flowers and pearls fade out around fingertip length on every length, so what changes is how far the plain tulle carries past them.

• Elbow, 30 inches, falls at the elbow.
• Fingertip, 38 inches, falls at the fingertips with arms down.
• Waltz, 58 inches, falls between the knee and the ankle.
• Chapel, 90 inches, pools slightly on the floor behind you.
• Cathedral, 110 inches, extends well past the train.
